One of the most popular radio and TV programmes of the 1960s and 70s was Children Talking, presented by the late Harold Williamson. It was the first programme of its kind to take seriously the opinions of youngsters and he became known as "the man who talks to children". But he was also one of the firstjournalists to take the newly-invented portable tape recorders out onto the streets to interview ordinary people.
