Jazz Concert

on BBC Radio 3

A concert given at last year's Glasgow Jazz Festival by the Danilo Perez Trio and the Nat Adderly Quintet, introduced by Brian Morton.
Danilo Perez was bom in Panama in 1966 and has established himself as a leader among the new generation of jazz musicians. The brothers Adderiey set the standard for accessible hard-bop in the late fifties, and since Cannonball's death, Nat has continued to espouse the virtues of straight, no-nonsense bop, while his quintets have acted as forcing grounds for young talent. In this concert, the young talent is Mark Gross. Producer Dave Batchelor
