3: Among Friends. Ravel's small circle of friends were an important part of his world. Manuel Rosenthal gives an insight into Ravel's very private life. The Violin Sonata is performed by Frank Peter Zimmermann and pianist Alexander Lonquich , and the Piano Trio by the Beaux Arts Trio. Also, the third of the Chants Populaires, the Chanson Italienne with soprano Victoria de los Angeles.
