Martinu: Out of Exile
A concert given on Saturday at the Barbican Centre, London, introduced by John Tusa. Jiri Belohlavek conducts an accomplished cast in Martinu's powerful opera, The Greek Passion. The opera is an allegorical story about a village passion-play in which the participants identify themselves with the characters they portray. Sung in English.
