It's That Meal Again

on BBC One London

Michael Barry recalls the delights of wartime cookery. Fifty years after Britain first registered for rationing, two Southampton families collect their coupons for a six-week experiment. Even without the blackout and bombs, it's war for the Harbers and the Lawrensons as they battle with the temptations of the supermarket and restrict themselves to 1942 rations.
Will they hold out? And were we really all much healthier during the War?
