The Permanent Way The broadcast premiere of David Hare 's dramatic portrayal of the impact of the privatisation in the 1990s of Britain's railways. Funny, tragic and compelling, the play is based on interviews conducted by the writer and the Out of Joint Company with members of the railway industry, survivors of recent train disasters and bereaved families.
