Problems of Pacific Defence
Talk by Richard Goold-Adams
The conference on Pacific defence between
Australia, New Zealand, and the U.S.A. has come as a reminder that the development of NATO has in some respects accentuated defence problems in regions not covered by the Atlantic Pact. Should, there, for example, be a separate Pacific Pact? Or should Australia be associated in some way with NATO? These and other aspects of defence in the Pacific are assessed 'in this talk by Richard Goold-Adams , a member of the editorial staff of The Economist.
