A series of six programmes
Since the war many members of the British Commonwealth have gained independence, and the Commonwealth is becoming an association of nations of many races and colours. Many of these new states have to contend with special problems. Their success is a matter of concern to the whole Commonwealth.
5-What Kind of a Society?
Nigeria
This programme deals with problems less tangible than some of those considered earlier in the series. It examines the forces that mould a society—religion, education, the law, the press-and considers the opportunities a new country has for harnessing them.
The narrator is DAVID WALKER, of the News Chronicle, and the speakers include BEN Enwonwu, art adviser to the Federal Government of Nigeria.
