John Surman

Jazz saxophonist John Surman was commissioned by the Salisbury
Festival to write Proverbs and Songs. which was given its first performance in the Cathedral in June by Surman himself, the Festival Chorus and John Taylor (organ). Alyn Shipton introduces the concert, which also included Surman's Alter Ego,
Seabird, Hymn 130 and Ovation.
Also taking part are the strings of the Bournemouth Sinfonietta. Karin Krog (vocals), John Marshall (drums) and conductor Howard Moody.
