Sue MacGregor visits Carla Lane , writer and creator of The Liver Birds and Butterflies, at her home in the suburbs of Liverpool. Born and brought up on Merseyside, it remains a natural setting for her work and for the mixture of comedy and tragedy which fascinates her.
