Seven More Days That Rocked the World: 3

on BBC Radio 2

A series recalling rock and pop's greatest and most shocking moments.

The three-day Isle of Wight Festival, which kicked off on 26 August 1970, combined the peace, love and music aspects of Woodstock with the tensions and political violence of Altamont.
Murray Lerner, Trevor Dann and Johnny Black recall an event which played host to the Who, the Doors, Tiny Tim and, in his last ever performance, Jimi Hendrix. Presented by Stuart Maconie.
