A series of six programmes in which Esther Rantzen meets six talented people - all amateurs in their field - who are given a chance to take part in a spectacular professional event. They go behind the scenes in the worlds of show business, journalism, music, horse-racing, fashion and haute cuisine.

This week, Mrs Gwen Troake, a farmer's wife from Devon, plans the menu for a banquet at the Dorchester Hotel, London. It is a Foyle's Literary Lunch in honour of Edward Heath, and Gwen meets Fanny Cradock, chef Eugene Kaufeler, Robert Morley, Magnus Pyke and many other experts she has always admired, who advise her how to tackle The Big Time.
