Talk by the Rev. John J. Haynes
In the British Zone of Germany a munitions dump and poison-gas shell factory, which had been untouched by our bombers, was due for demolition shortly after the war. With the help of the Control Commission a group of German church leaders were given permission to convert this symbol of war into a home for refugee people. It is today a refugee town of some considerable size and bears the old name of Espelkamp-Mittwald. Mr. Haynes has recently visited the town and tells how the work is continuing.
