View in Radio Times

Talk by Nikolaus Pevsner , newly elected Slade Professor of Fine Art at Cambridge.
This talk is a shortened version of Professor Pevsner's inaugural lecture, delivered at
Cambridge on October 17. He speaks about Sir Matthew Digby Wyatt , who was elected the first Cambridge Slade Professor in 1869. Sir Matthew Digby Wyatt was also Secretary of the 1851 Exhibition, and at that time had a controversy with Ruskin that is still of significance for our own day.
