The Poetry of Brian Coffey

on BBC Radio 3

by AUGUSTUS YOUNG
Brian Coffey 's poetry has always aroused controversy. While many complain of the lack of surface attractions, a few point to the poetry's impeccable intellectual pedigree. Death of Hektor is his latest long poem and Coffey describes it in relation to his earlier life and work with J. C. Mays.
The poem is read in its entirety by CYRIL CUSACK. Presenter Jim Norton Producer
