London's Marathon

on BBC One London

Once again marathon fever grips the capital, as more than 25,000 athletes make the now classic journey from Greenwich Park to
Westminster Bridge.
The men's entry for the ADT London Marathon is the most impressive yet. It includes the world champion
Douglas Wakiihuri of Kenya, the runner-up in Rome,
Ahmed Salah of Djibouti, and Rob de Castella, twice the Commonwealth champion. Favourite for the women's race is Aurora Cunha of Portugal.
But as well as the serious athletes running for prize money of over E250,000, today is. about the fun runners - the men and women who will be pleased merely to complete the 26-mile (and 385-yard) course and raise thousands of pounds for charity.
Live coverage of the whole race, with commentary by RON PICKERING and BRENDAN FOSTER Technical co-ordination
