The heart of the requiem mass is the 'Dies Irae' - the terrifying 13th-century poem evoking the Day of Judgment and the punishments and rewards that await the sinner and faithful alike. Tonight's programme looks at the response of composers over the centuries to this most dramatic of Latin texts.
