John Corigliano is one of America's leading composers, with a whole gamut of works to his credit. In this choral symphony he sets four poems by the Welsh poet
Dylan Thomas , who died in 1953 aged just 39 years: Fern Hill , Poem in October, Poem on His Birthdayand Author's Prologue. Corigliano says that Dylan Thomas 's poetry has been a constant companion throughout many years, and this Trilogy took 40 years to complete.
