Sidelights on a Competition
Jeremy James looks at the annual battle for a Sunshine Medal - the prize that just might 'put your daughter on the stage'!
The All-England Sunshine Dancing Competition for Children has been held every year since 1924 to raise money for the Sunshine Homes for Blind Children.
At last year's competition, when this film was made, children of all ages, backed up by devoted mothers and dedicated teachers, danced their way through provincial heats and semi-finals to win the forty-seven medals and eleven cups waiting in London at the finals.
