Farming
Farming today means big business! In fact, it is Britain's biggest industry and half of our land is used for agricultural purposes of one kind or another. Although we import about half of our lamb and bacon, farming efficiency means we are self-sufficient in the production of beef. veal and poultry. But it is this ' efficiency' that often leads to a lack of understanding between ' town and ' country ' people.
In the studio this morning to answer your questions on farming, are Mary Cherry , who has visited farms all over the world; and Geoff Ballard , who has a 600-acre mixed farm near Worcester. In the Chair
