.ST. STEPHEN'S (BLACKPOOL) GLEEMEN
'A MATTER OF POLICY'
A New Original Comedy by GORDON PHILLIPS
PICTURE the dining-room of a suburban home at 8.30 a.m. The husband is engaged in a careful scrutiny of the morning milk. In the centre of the breakfast table lie several unopened letters, and it is at the precise moment when the wife notices them that our play commences.
'APPEARANCES'
A Play by HELEN C. PRESBURY
IMAGINE the rather dingy hall of a Blooms-bury Lodging House on December 20, 1925. On the combined hat-rack and umbrella-stand rests a telephone. A door opening off, the hall into a bed-sitting-room discloses. a young man busily searching for something in the bureau.
The landlady stands watching him, an expression i of mingled triumph and outraged virtue on her face.
