at the Organ of the Plaza Theatre,
Rugby
John Bennett, like so many other theatre organists, began his musical career as a church organist, and had his first appointment at the age of fifteen. When he was twenty-three years old he won first prize for organ solo at the National Eisteddfod at
Swapsea. Since turning his attention to theatre organs he has had appointments at Ipswich, Tottenham, Dunclee, Coventry, Birmingham, and Kidderminster. He resigned from Kidderminster in 1937 to take over the musical directorship at the Plaza, Rugby.
