TRAVEL TALKS. 'Great Cities of Other Lands': San Francisco.
Script by Rhoda Power

2.20 LET'S JOIN IN. 'Yellow-breast': an old-fashioned tale adapted for broadcasting by Miriam Langdon

2.40 LOOKING AT THINGS. 'Towns and Villages': differences that have developed in various parts of the country
All towns and villages are built for people to live in. They have streets, shops, and houses, and some have churches, schools, post offices, a railway station and other public buildings as well. But not all towns and villages are alike; a village in southern England is not like a Welsh village, nor is a Scottish town like a town in the Midlands. How have they come to be so different? Today's broadcast tells how some of these differences came about and how they have developed in various parts of the country.
