THE BIRMINGHAM STUDIO ORCHESTRA
Conducted by FRANK CANTELL
D'AMBROSIO, known to tho present day only as the composer of one or two charmingly melodious violin pieces, was himself a fine violinist, a distinguished pupil of the Conservatoire at Naples. His short and busy life was shared between Nice and Paris, and it was there that he died shortly after the outbreak of the Great War, at the age of only forty-three. Many of the greatest violinists have included some of his graceful music in their repertory; it is so well suited to display the best qualities of the instrument that it is likely to retain its popularity.
