Modern medicine poses many dilemmas calling for routine solutions. Who should get a kidney machine? Should we do research on human embryos? Should a baby born severely handicapped be allowed to die?
Mr Justice Michael Kirby, Chairman of the Australian Law Reform Commission, has taken a special interest in these issues. In conversation with Professor Ian Kennedy , he considers what social and legal changes are needed to deal with the problems presented by medical advances.
