A commentary during the early stages of the race by F. J. FINDON from Donington Park
The race for the Nuffield Trophy starts at about 3.45 p.m. and should finish about 6.25-the broadcast therefore will cover the early stages of the race, which has become established as one of the classics at Donington. The distance is 155 miles, equal to sixty laps of the circuit. There will be at least three E.R.A.'s. driven respectively by Raymond Mays , Pat Fairfield, and D. Scribbans. Charles Goodacre , who set up a record by winning every one of the four races held on Coronation day on this course, and Mrs. Petre and H. L. Hadley will all drive Austins. T. C. Harrison and H. L. Brook will steer Rileys, and a very interesting entry is that of Count Lurani's Maserati, which will be handled by Villerosi.
