Sarah Vaughan. Julian Joseph introduces recordings of the celebrated American vocalist Sarah Vaughan. Vaughan was an early member of Billy Eckstine 's big band of the forties, and enjoyed huge commercial success recording with orchestras in the fifties. She also worked in small groupjazz settings, including sessions with trumpeter Clifford Brown and drummer Roy Haynes.
