continues the season of acclaimed films introduced each week by Barry Norman, tonight starring Bette Davis, Paul Henreid, Claude Rains.

This romantic melodrama from Warner Brothers' golden era stars Bette Davis , in one of her first roles, as the spinster Charlotte Vale, who is completely dominated by her mother. After psychiatric help, Charlotte is transformed into a stylish, sophisticated woman and embarks on her first love affair. But with love and awakening comes heartache.
