Les Paladins
A rare chance to hear Rameau's penultimate opera in an exuberant new production from the Theatre du Châtelet in Paris. Although Rameau wrote Les Paladins in his mid-70s, it's full of youthful ardour and new experiments with old forms. The beautiful young Argie is kept imprisoned by her elderly guardian
Anselme, who plans to marry her. Then along comes the handsome Atis and his troop of knights (Ies paladins), determined to claim her for himself. Presented by Stephanie Hughes.
