Famous for her superlative technique in coloratura roles, she was equally at ease in more dramatic parts when the occasion demanded. Her career on disc takes in Handel, the bel canto operas of Bellini, Donizetti, Verdi heroines. Puccini's Turandot, and some of the byways of the 19th-century French repertoire.
