Having made a certain name for himself in the 60s with such acts as Captain Beefheart, Tiny Tim , Fats Domino and Ella Fitzgerald , Perry really entered public consciousness in the early 70s with career-defining albums for Harry Nilsson , Carly Simon and Ringo Starr.
