On the bicentenary of Donizetti's birth, a concert performance of his melodramma semiserio of 1842, which tells a story of love triumphing in the face of parental opposition. The performance was given earlier this month at the Royal Festival Hall, London. Sung in Italian. Introduced by Gordon Stewart.
