Saturday-Night Theatre: A Picture of Autumn

on BBC Home Service Basic

by N.C. Hunter
Adapted for radio by Mollie Greenhalgh
[Starring] Sybil Thorndike and Lewis Casson
Produced by Charles Lefeaux

Set in Wiltshire, England it follows three aging members of the Denham family: the married Charles and Margaret Denham and Charles' older brother Harry, as they crawl through life in a monotonous rut. They live together in the overwhelmingly large and dilapidated Winton Manor...

Its debut on 11 February 1951 was a one-night 'try-out' performance presented by the Repertory Players, at the Duke of York's Theatre on London's West End. Despite promising reviews, the play was never picked up.
