Troubleshooter In Eastern Europe

on BBC Two England

In the original Troubleshooter, broadcast in 1990, former ICI boss Sir John Harvey-Jones turned a critical eye on the state of British industry. Now, in two special programmes, Sir John travels to an eastern Europe striving to make the transition from command economy to free market.
Tonight, in Like a Sleeping Beauty, he tours Poland in a bi-plane with his interpreter Piotr, offering candid recommendations to managers, shopfloor workers and even President Lech Walesa. Next Thursday, Sir John turns a sharp eye towards Hungary. Producer Robert Thirkell
