9.35am A Vienna Benefit Concert
On 23rd March 1783 Mozart gave a fund-raising 'academy' in Vienna's Burgtheater. He included some of his most recent music, and the event. attended by Emperor Joseph II, was the success of the capital's season.

12.15pm A Mannheim Quintet
The Quintet in C, Op 11 No 1 was one of a set of six Johann Christian Bach dedicated to the Elector Palatine. It is likely he took them with him when visiting Mannheim in 1774, three years before Mozart. The English Concert

Quartet in B minor. Op 64
No 2. Mozart almost certainly knew the Op 64 quartets. which were written in 1790, the year before he died. Amadeus Quartet
(1979 and 1982 recordings).
