The Monday Play: Nietzsche's Horse

on BBC Radio 4 FM

By Lavinia Murray. Friedrich Nietzsche finds the perfect metaphor for his life in an old workhorse in a Turin square. He tries to rescue the horse from a beating and collapses into insanity clutching the horse's neck. As man and beast drift into unconsciousness, they recollect their bizarrely connected lives and reflect on the meaning of life.
