Presented by Misha Donat. Reger's reputation as a composer of heavily Teutonic music is one that dies hard, despite the gracefulness and wit of so much of his work. The Clarinet Quintet follows in the footsteps of similar quintets by Mozart and Brahms - it is a serene late work ending with a set of variations.
