Africans Abroad

on BBC Radio 4 FM

Last century it was the people of Africa who were considered to be in need of spiritual help from British missionaries. Now the tide is turning - Africans have heard that the British are atheist, materialistic and repressed. Africans Margaret and Kume have just arrived, but are finding it hard to persuade the British back into church. Presented by Caroline Swinburne , who travels with the African missionaries and witnesses their horror at how small the church congregations in this country are. Producer Jane O'Rourke
