Shrek2, an animated film sequel about a lovesick green ogre, a talking donkey with attitude and a swashbuckling puss in boots, was one of the most eagerly awaited films at Cannes this year. The original was a word-of-mouth hit and the sequel (which opens here on 2 July) has done so well at the box office in America that it is already well on its way to becoming the biggest grossing film of all time.
