A star-studded international line-up of athletes compete in this meeting which commemorates the death of one of Belgium's finest athletes, IVO VAN DAMME.
The presence of Britain's SEBASTIAN COE and STEVE OVETT Will guarantee a packed Heysel Stadium, where the 'Golden 10,000 metres' has attracted the best runners in the world over that distance. They include world record holder HENRY RONO , Olympic gold medallist LASSE VIREN, European champion MARTTI VAINIO , Ethiopia's MIRUTS YIFTER and Britain's BRENDAN FOSTER. ALLAN WELLS again takes on top sprinters HASELY CRAWFORD , JAMES GILKES and HOUSTON MCTEAR.
