At the height of the American Civil War, Major McKay, stationed at Fort Laramie, has one great need - horses. When rustlers set out to exploit the situation by stealing horses from the Sioux, Captain Jonathan Westgate , a discharged Union officer, is the only man who can prevent a major Indian war.
