The Aldabra Affair and After

Some three years ago Dr. Stoddart learned of the proposal to build an R.A.F. staging-post on Aldabra in the Indian Ocean. But to scientists Aldabra is possibly as important as Darwin's Galapagos. As it happened, the staging-post was not built and the Royal Society has just had a two-day discussion on establishing a scientific research station there. But what of the future?
