Stark

on BBC One London

Ben Elton stars as CD, a sex-starved Pommie writer in Australia, in this three-part adaptation of his best-selling novel. First screened last year, it is a satire set in the final days of the earth as it is asphyxiated by pollution and centres on the sinister activities of Stark, a corrupt consortium of industrialists.
The plot starts with antipodean millionaire Sly Morgan buying a pocket of remote Aboriginal land in the heart of the desert. The consortium say it is to be mined for uranium, although according to the Aboriginal leader:
"There's more mineral deposits in a bottle of fizzy water."
CanCDavertStark's ecological Armageddon? Or even better can he finally get a woman into bed?
