From the novel' Is He Popenjoy?' by Anthony Trollope
Dramatised by H. Oldfield Box
Produced by Wilfrid Grantham
8-1 Lord George is Exceedingly Careless'
Cast in order of speaking:
Lord George Germain is sorely harassed. Against his inclinations he has been driven by his father-in-law, the Dean, to take action against his brother, the Marquis, and to set on foot a private enquiry into the circumstances of the Marquis's marriage. Mary, his wife, is by no means the docile submissive creature he had hoped and expected; indeed she is rapidly showing herself the dominant partner, and her friendship with Captain de Baron still continues. Lord George determines that he must restore his mastery. But his own carelessness leads Mary to make a discovery that still further reduces his status.
