The orchestra and the Czech-born conductor Libor Pesek team up in Symphony Hall, Birmingham, to play three famous works by Dvorak. His concert overture Othello is a passionate portrayal of love, envy and death; the Cello Concerto is his last great symphonic work, written while he was a homesick expatriate working in the USA; and the seventh symphony is arguably the greatest of his symphonies.
