Tennessee Williams's powerful play about the tensions in a dying millionaire's family gets a lively screen performance from Elizabeth Taylor as the 'cat' determined not to jump off the roof, no matter what it costs her.
Big Daddy returns from a medical check-up for a celebration birthday party under the impression that he is a fit man. Festivities are strained however, since half his family know Big Daddy has cancer. When he learns the truth, a crisis develops.
