Since it started in 1987, the biennial
Early Music Network International Young Artists' Competition has become one of the world's major prizes for early music. Past winners include Paul Goodwin , I Fagiolini and the Palladian Ensemble. Lucie Skeaping introduces highlights of this year's competition, which took place last Saturday in the Guildhall in York as part of the 1999 Early Music Festival. Producer Lindsay Kemp
