Lucie Skeaping introduces highlights of a concert given in St John's, Smith Square, by one of this year's most distinguished festival visitors, the Catalan viola da gamba player JordiSavall, together with guitarist Xavier Diaz and harpsichordist Michael Behringer. Music in today's programme features favourites of the viol repertoire, including recercadas by Diego Ortiz. some of Tobias Hume 's Musical Humors, and Marin Marais's variations on the Folies d'Espagne.
