Rough Justice

on BBC One London

Death In the Playground
In 1993, teenagerPaul Esslemont was branded a "psychopath" and a "callous killer" after being found guilty of battering a 3-year-old child to death with a golf club. But Rough Justice believes he is the victim of a miscarriage of justice and reveals that much of the scientific evidence that convicted him was flawed. In a dramatic reconstruction featuring new experimental evidence, the programme aims to show that justice can misfire when convictions are based on forensic evidence alone.
