' Northern Concert Hall'

Part 2- The ' Eroica ' was at first inscribed to
Napoleon Bonaparte, but the democratic Beethoven's fury at Napoleon's proclaiming himself Emperor made him alter the dedication, though the ideal the composer had in mind remained to inspire the music. The four movements may be very briefly classified by calling attention to the heroic nature of the themes and structure of the first movement, the sombre pageantry of the second, which is in reality a funeral march, the reconciling nature of the Scherzo, which seems to revive the dance of life after the passage of death, and the Finale, which is an heroic conception of the supreme joy of life.
